Honey HQ

Honey is the modern day equivalent of what our parents did two decades ago (or perhaps still do to this day) to spend away their time on Sunday mornings: clip coupons. Honey is a popular browser extension that automatically searches for and applies coupon codes from thousands of online retailers, saving you time and money (and the paper cuts). Francis directed the expansion of the quickly growing company in their own building in the Arts District over the span of 5 floors and for 600 employees, making it the largest tech company in the Arts District.

Honey’s mission - to make the world more fair, starts with building a company where diversity is a priority. They are committed to creating a culture of inclusivity, where there are opportunities for all, everyone feels like they belong, and different perspectives are valued.

Honey Santa Barbara

When you enter the Santa Barbara office, you’ll find their onsite cafe space and kitchen to the left, featuring various booths and open tables. Throughout the open space are various live plant fixtures and wall art that showcase the Santa Barbara culture and lifestyle.

We wanted to create an environment that fosters productivity through a variety of unique working spaces. There’s a space for every preferred working style - whether that’s a quiet space where you can work uninterrupted, or a social space where you can collaborate in groups and work alongside others.

NastyGal

With its origins in the Bay Area, NastyGal, the lifestyle and fashion collective, sought expansion in the City of Angels. Gradually growing its company over the course of 2 years, NastyGal sought the help of Francis to build the company from 10 employees to 300+ employees all while maintaining the casual company culture the brand has become well-known to be.

Working with Bestor Architecture to program and design its creative headquarters, the company found its home in the booming downtown financial district of Downtown Los Angeles where exposed brick, concrete trusses, and marble flooring help to create a beautiful office, modern office.

The headquarter’s central hub is its cafe area where employees and visitors can convene to collaborate, relax and take a break from the bustling fashion world.

Set amongst a maze of historic buildings in DTLA, the NastyGal space is intricately intertwined to present one cohesive design story.

Joany

Alongisde designer Kelly Robinson, Francis managed the build-out of Joany, a healthcare concierge that helped clients compare plans, find a doctor, and get help with medical bills. Joany moved to the 26th floor of The Bloc in downtown Los Angeles, and asked the designer to make it feel like employees were working at home, helping to create a quality working environment for each of its team members.

Honey

Francis directed the expansion of the quickly growing company at its current digs in the financial district of downtown Los Angeles. In addition, Honey’s plans are in the works to expand to their own building in the Arts District over the span of 5 floors and for 600 employees, making it (when completed) the largest tech company in the DTLA area.

Headspace

Working together with Kelly Robinson and Joelle Drury of Wolcott AI, the team lead the way to transform 18,000 square feet of raw production space into a balanced, playful home which would serve as Headspace’s first intentionally designed headquarters.

The brand exudes a whimsical, colorful, and playful tone, while it’s founders appreciate clean and minimal design. And keeping in mind the company values of kindness, creativity, and authenticity, everyone worked to create an end user experience that would allow these qualities to flow freely.

Meditation pods, expertly designed by Dwayne Oyler and Jenny Wu, are placed centrally in the large open work area, so all employees are only a short distance away from “Taking 10” to meditate at any time. A recording studio, film stage, and editing room were carefully considered to house Headspace’s talented content team. A Design Lab is a nod to the company’s commitment to creativity, and a Silent Room serves as a device free place to rest and recharge in the midst of a long work day.
